Mechanical drain cleaners are often best  for removing physical blockages.  They are tree roots or solid objects, without relying on chemicals.

Using a kitchen sink drain opener

  2. Wear Protective Gear: If using a chemical drain cleaner, wear gloves and eye protection to prevent skin or eye irritation.
  3. Apply the Cleaner: Pour the recommended amount of the kitchen sink drain cleaner into the drain. Follow the dosing instructions provided on the product label.
  4. Wait: Allow the cleaner to sit for the specified time indicated on the product label. This allows the cleaner to work on breaking down the clog.
