Solubility: It is soluble in alcohol and water.
Effects: Air and light have a great effect on its stability.
Preparation: It is prepared by boiling sodium cyanide with sulfur.
Grades: It is available in technical, pure crystals, and CP grades.
Precautions: Poisonous compound.
Uses:
- In electroplating, for the preparation of black nickel.
- In the making of synthetic mustard oil.
- In textiles for dyeing and printing.
- In medicine, especially for treating high blood pressure.
