CHARACTERISTICS

• Gutta percha is also known as Trans poly isoprene. It is the geometric isomer of natural rubber that is obtained from the trees of Malaya.
• It freezes in cold conditions. It is not flexible, starts melting at 60 degree Celsius and molded in this condition. At 100 degree Celsius, it melts completely

SOLUBILITY

• It is soluble in chloroform, ether and carbon di sulfide.
• Insoluble in water
