CHINA CLAY

CHARACTERISTICS

• China clay is also called K OLENE
• Composition: Alumina 40%,Silica 55%, Water and other  chemicals 5%
• It is white, grey, or yellow colored natural clay

DENSITY

• It gets darker when wet and gives specific clay smell.

SOLUBILITY

• Soluble in alkali hydroxide and acids
• Insoluble in water

EFFECTS

• It is very sticky in nature, harmless and catches fire easily

GRADES

• Technical, N-F
