• Dextrin is obtained by doing chemical reaction on starch
• It  is present in the form of white powder and granules

SOLUBILITY

• Easily soluble in hot water
• Not soluble in alcohol and either

USES

• It is used in different formulas of gum making
• Also used as thickening agent, natural gum and as an alternative to liquid in preparation of penicillin

• It is also used in fireworks, food and bakery products
• It is also use in glass silvering compound and printing inks manufacturing.
